ARLINGTON — Police have located and charged a 21-year-old suspect in connection with a Sept. 8 bank robbery.

Travis T. Bjornson was identified through tips received by the Arlington Police Department shortly after the robbery, which occurred at Union Bank, located in the 500 block of Olympic Avenue in downtown Arlington.

Kristin Banfield, city of Arlington spokeswoman, said that police found Bjornson in the Marion County Jail in Salem, Ore. The suspect was being held in connection with a separate incident.

Bjornson was charged with first degree robbery in Snohomish County and an extradition warrant has been filed for his return to Washington state, Banfield said.

Bjornson was sentenced to less than a year in jail for a Dec. 16, 2008 robbery of the Arlington Key Bank, which is also located in the 500 block of Olympic Avenue.

At approximately 3:20 p.m. on Sept. 10, Arlington police released to the media a photo taken by bank cameras of a suspect who they believed robbed Union Bank.

The suspect provided a demand note upon entering the bank and left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Arlington Police officers and a Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit searched the area but did not located the suspect.
