Boy dies in wreck near Arlington

Personnel from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and Marysville Fire District responded at 4:07 p.m., Sept. 18, to a one car rollover collision on McRae Road near Arlington in which one boy died and two others were injured.

A pickup truck driven by a local adult female struck a utility pole, then a rock and then a light pole, coming to rest on its passenger side on top of a 7-year-old boy who had been partially ejected from the vehicle as it rolled, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Ofiice, That boy died at the scene. The 5-year-old boy and 3-year-old girl who were also riding in the vehicle were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver had to be forcibly restrained after fighting with both paramedics and deputies. She too was transported to a local hospital.

The collision is being investigated by the Snohomish County Collision Investigation Unit.

No arrests have been made in connection with the assault on the emergency responders or the collision.
