Co-op comes to Arlington

ARLINGTON — A volunteer-run co-op is looking for residents interested in contributing.

For a $15 contribution, community members will receive approximately $50 in fresh fruits and vegetables, said co-op organizer Stephanie Dickson.

The produce, which varies from week to week, comes from a Seattle-based company that delivers to several grocery stores in the area, Dickson said.

“It’s the same quality you would find in the store,” she said.

Each participant receives the same items — approximately 10 kinds of fruits and vegetables.

About 20 residents have joined the co-op so far, Dickson said. The co-op is organized through bountifulbaskets.org.

The next co-op is Jan. 2. It runs every other week, and participants have no ongoing commitment, Dickson said.
