DUVALL — The Lakewood boys and girls track teams both placed first out of four teams at the 2A sub-district championship at Cedarcrest High School May 11.

DUVALL — The Lakewood boys and girls track teams both placed first out of four teams at the 2A sub-district championship at Cedarcrest High School May 11.

The boys team scored 53 points. Cruz Griffin championed in the long jump, leaping 19-3.75 meters.

The girls team was first with 57 points. Champion results: 1600—Lilly Whitehead five minutes, 31.43 seconds; high jump—Yareli Ochoa, jumping 4-10 meters; triple jump—Alexis Perry, jumping 32-6 meters; and discus—Megan Fenton, throwing 115-9 meters.

ARLINGTON — The Arlington girls track team placed first out of six teams at the Wesco 3A North divisional meet May 11 at Arlington High School.

The girls scored 68 points total. Their champions were: 1600—Marie Gaudin, in five minutes, 13 seconds; discus—Jayla Russ, throwing 115-3 meters; and javelin—Olivia Larson, throwing 107-2 meters.

The Arlington boys team placed first, also championing two. They scored 54 points total. Their champions were: 1600—Nathan Beamer, in 4:16.05; and long jump—Riley Nelson, jumping 21-0.5 meters.

The Marysville-Pilchuck boys placed fourth, scoring 23.5 points, and the girls placed third with 26 points. Bianca Acuario championed for the girls in the long jump, leaping 17-5 meters.

The Marysville Getchell boys and girls team placed last, scoring five and nine points respectively.

OAK HARBOR — Arlington’s Livia Markwart championed by defeating Marysville Getchell’s Marina Ciferri, 6-2 and 6-0, at the Wesco 3A North Tournament May 11.

Both girls will advance to the district tournament May 17 at Arlington High School at 1 p.m.

Arlington also advances Aleida Garduno-Cravioto to districts, who won her fourth-place match 6-0 and 6-1; and doubles Lily Bynum and Layla-Garduno Cravioto who placed forth losing the third-place match 6-2 and 6-3.

MG also advances doubles Mady Jo Larsen and Gabby Grandbois, who lost their finals match 6-2 and 6-3.

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood softball team was routed by Granite Falls 24-14 May 11. Jenna Melton was two-for-four at the plate, hitting a homerun and a double, and Alexis Lampinen was three-for-three hitting a homerun and two RBIs. Lakewood’s record is 8-11.

STANWOOD — Austin Faux of Arlington co-medaled with Stanwood’s Kole Johnson in the 3A divisional golf tournament May 10 at Kayak Point Golf Course over 18 holes.

Faux mirrored Johnson’s score of 79 points, which brought Arlington to place second overall with a score of 430 points, behind Stanwood’s first-place score of 419.

Marysville-Pilchuck placed third with a score of 472 points. Nate Venables led M-P with 84 points. Marysville Getchell did not qualify.

MARYSVILLE — Kylie Lopez hit a homerun, and Sydney Zachry added three RBI to take the Marysville-Pilchuck softball team to a 12-2 win over Stanwood May 10. M-P improved its record to 15-4 and are seeded No. 4 in the 3A district tournament. They will host the No. 5-seeded Mountlake Terrace May 17 at 4 p.m.

ARLINGTON — Arlington’s Shyne McKay exploded at the plate, hitting five RBI in her softball team’s 11-2 win over Marysville Getchell May 9. The Arlington girls improved their record 10-10 and are seeded No. 6 in 3A district tournament. They are slated to visit the No. 3-seeded Glacier Peak May 17 at 4 p.m.

MARYSVILLE — The Marysville Getchell softball team defeated Oak Harbor 9-5 May 10, improving its record to 3-17.
