SNOHOMISH COUNTY — North County Fire/EMS firefighters and area Starbucks baristas recently collected a record-setting mark of 6,500 pounds of food and more than 1,300 new toys for the Arlington and Stanwood communities.

Food was donated to the Arlington and Stanwood food banks, while toys were distributed to the Arlington and Stanwood Christmas houses, said Battalion Chief Christian Davis.

“Everyone was truly touched to see such an outpouring of support from the communities and all the gals at the Starbucks were fantastic with all their help in collecting toys and donation,” Davis said in a release.

The Starbucks location in the Stanwood Haggen Food & Pharmacy, as well the Bryant, Freeborn and Warm Beach fire stations collected food, toys and monetary donations during December.

“It is truly a privilege to be part of such wonderful communities who truly help each other in their time of need,” Davis said.
