UPDATED at 12:50 p.m. — Mount Vernon police arrested a 28-year-old man in Mount Vernon on Thursday night, on suspicion of second-degree manslaughter, after a body was found in the Arlington Haggen parking lot.
As of 1:30 p.m. on March 23, the day of its fourth annual “Paint the Town Purple” event, the Arlington Relay For Life had recruited 67 teams of 398 participants and raised $46,650 to support the American Cancer Society.
The second annual Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt drew hundreds of attendees to the Haller Middle School field, where kids and adults of all ages hunted down Easter eggs in the dark, to help raise more than $2,000 for Relay for Life.
