ARLINGTON Standard Mexican fare is now being served with lively presentation of co-managers Cesar Acero and Francisco Curiel at the new restaurant, Playa Bonita, in the remodeled and transformed former Rome Restaurant in downtown Arlington.
We wanted to bring something different to downtown Arlington, said co-manager Fancisco Curiel. We want to make friends while serving people, and provide jobs for people, too, Francisco added, while pretending to spill a fake margarita across the table.
Owner Jorge Acero has also owned Acapulco restaurants in Marysville and Granite Falls for 13 years.
After spending several months on a lengthy remodel to convert the former bar area into a new expanded dining room, the doors of Playa Bonita, which translates as pretty beach, opened Feb. 24 and the managers are planning a grand opening celebration later on.
