Unofficial results show Arlington’s Prop. 1 passing

The Snohomish County Elections Division has released the unofficial results for Proposition 1, the Emergency Medical Services Levy for Arlington, which appeared on the ballot for the April 26 special election.

EVERETT – The Snohomish County Elections Division has released the unofficial results for Proposition 1, the Emergency Medical Services Levy, which appeared on the ballot for the April 26 special election.

The unofficial results, as of 8 p.m. April 26,  show that 4,987, or 34.78 percent of the 14,338 ballots that were mailed out, have been counted.

For the city of Arlington Proposition 1, 3,178 ballots had been counted with 2,683 (84.42 percent) Yes votes and 495 (15.58 percent) No votes.  To pass, a minimum turnout of 2,435 with at least a 60 percent yes vote is required.

For the Fire District 21 Proposition 1, 1,809 ballots had been counted with 1,437 (79.44 percent) Yes votes and 372 (20.56 percent) No votes. To pass, a  minimum turnout of 1,504 and at least a 60 percent yes vote is required.

Updated results will be released at 5 p.m. on April 27.
