David Edward Lee

David Edward Lee, 50, passed away in his home Saturday, March 24, 2007, after a long battle with cancer.
David was born Jan. 27, 1957, to Edward Owen Lee and Bessie Guylene Lee (Samis) in Pauls Valley, Okla. He spent most of his childhood in the Seattle area, where his family owned a produce market, until they moved back to Oklahoma in 1973.
David left for the Navy in 1975, after the death of his beloved father. After concluding his military service, David traveled around the country making many friends, until settling once again in the Seattle area.
He became general manager of a large produce company, and in 1981 married his soul-mate, Carol Christensen-Lee. They had two daughters, Melissa Ann and Angela Kay. In 1990, David left the produce business to become a woodworker, where he built a thriving family business making furniture and home decor. In 1998, David moved his family to Sulphur, Okla., when he purchased his grandmothers house.
David was a kind and generous man, who was very proud of his family name and heritage. He is loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents and father.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, of 25 years (Sulphur); his daughters Melissa (Norman), Angela (Ada); mother Guylene Samis (Sulphur); three sisters, Deborah Lee (Florida), Pam Walker and husband C.D. (Milburn), Karen Lee and husband Tony (Tecumseh) and one brother Billy Bailey (Ardmore). David is also survived by Bon Mayberry (Ada), loved as a son, 10 nieces and nephews, as well as 14 great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2007 at the Methodist Church n Davis, Okla.
