Don Gus Boettcher

Don Gus Boettcher, 53, of Sedro-Woolley, Wash., and Arlington, Wash., died suddenly Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, with his boots on out in the field checking his cows.
He was born to Gustav and Vida Boettcher in Burlington, Wash., and moved to the Arlington farm in 1957.
He grew up and stayed on the farm through the death of his father, his marriage, children and the death of his mother. The farm was his life, from the spring calves in the field, hay crews in the summer, burn outs on the highway, swamping in the pit, hauling gravel and fixing anything with wheels. Who else do you know that would call up half dozen guys on a moments notice to drop everything they were doing to come and help him on the farm and make you feel privileged that he had called you?
Don touched many, many lives. He could be a hard ass or the most generous, friendliest soul. He definitely left his mark he will be missed.
Don married Patricia (Patty) Jean Pierce on Aug. 7, 1992. He leaves behind his greatest accomplishment, his children, Amy Johanna Boettcher and Timothy Gus Boettcher. Never give up never surrender.
Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at Hulbush Funeral Home, Burlington. Visitation was held on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hulbush Funeral Home.
Don would wish you to remember him by keeping your money in your pocket and doing something he would love, a burn out, working hard, or talking to a friend. So live your life to the fullest so when you meet him again youll have something to BS about.
