Sylvia Lydia Skeers, 91 of Marysville, Wash., passed away on July 15, 2007 in the hospital in Everett, Wash. of natural causes. She was born in Tacoma, Wash. on July 9, 1916 and following her marriage to Finas Howard Skeers, moved to the Darrington, Wash. area where she lived for 55 years.
Sylvia was a member of the Darrington United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. She loved to prepare great meals for family gatherings as family being together was very important to her. She was a high school graduate and also took a course to become a Practical Nurse. While working at Cascade Valley Hospital in Arlington, Wash., she was always recognized as a tender and loving caregiver.
In 1998, Sylvia moved to Windsor Square in Marysville, following the passing of her husband. She spent time there playing cards, bingo, was a member of the Red Hat Club and enjoyed many other social events. We are thankful for her friends and staff at Windsor Square.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Finas Howard Skeers, her parents, Ed Anton Berg and Lydia Sophia Lindberg, her sisters, Margaret, Ellen, Doris, and great grandson Collin.
She is survived by her three daughters, Winnifred (Scott) Parris of Darrington, Rosalie Peterson and Delaine Peterson of Marysville and one son, Finas Howard (Vicki) Skeers Jr. of Tenino, Wash. She will be lovingly remembered by 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren
A private family graveside service will be held at the Arlington Municipal Cemetery, 20310 67th Ave. NE, Arlington, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2007.
