Donald Allen Swanson

After a long battle for his love of life, Donald Allen Al Swanson hurts no more. He was taken from us on May 11, 2007; way too soon but he lived a lifetime of good memories.
He was born March 16, 1966.
Whether working in his shop on another 4 x 4, hunting in Yakima, Wash., camping in Winthrop, Wash., or fishing at Rufus Woods, Al made the best of any situation. He cherished these things most when done with his family and friends. Al had numerous jobs working with Ameron, Washington State Utilities, and logging with the boys.
Allen was met in Heaven by his father, Donald Swanson; grandparents; and many other open arms.
Allen is remembered as a loving son of Patty Swanson, Leroy and Dory Crabtree; his wife/best friend, and soul mate, Tammy; loving father to Pam and Scott, Donald and Kendra, Justin and Amanda, Tesha, Jonner, Ashley; and countless other kids who looked to Al as a role model; loving papa to Hunter Allen and Jayden, Rileigh, Bailey, Kendra, and Kyla; loving brother to Gene and Bobbie, Nancy and Mike, Dwayne and Casey, Bub and Linda, Fred and Sharon, Priscilla and Greg; Uncle Al to many nieces and nephews; and great-uncle to five.
Al was a true friend who would help out, however he could from a frown to a broken Toyota, Al could fix almost anything. Its impossible to summarize the importance of such an amazing person in just a few words.
Allen, every extra moment spent with you was a gift and we thank you for that. Although we have to wait to see you again, you will never be far from our thoughts or our hearts.
Dad, When we think about you, the thing that comes to mind is the way you gently advised us with words both keen and kind
For there was wisdom shining through in everything you told.
And the guidance that you gave to us was always good as gold.
A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2007, at 19020 Nicks Road, Arlington.
