Donna Hovik Hascal, 88, passed quietly in her sleep into the presence of her Lord Jesus on March 15, 2007.
Donna was born July 29, 1918, in Marysville, Wash., on Shoutles Road, to Martha and Ed Hovik, at the old family homestead.
Donna and her beloved husband, Al Hascal, recently celebrated 70 years of marriage in December. Donna met Al in Anacortes, Wash., when she was 13 and Al was 17. They were presently living at Harbour Pointe Assisted Living in Mukilteo, Wash.
Donna was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend to those who enjoyed a relationship with her.
Donna is survived by her loving, devoted husband, Al; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Sig Thorlakson; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Pam Hascal; and six grandchildren, Michele, Lisa, Kim, Jim (Shelly), Stephanie and Jamie (Nick); and two great-grandchildren. Her sister, Elinor Angelel and sister-in-law, Martha Hovik; and nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Morrie; Jim and his son Kevin; and Jack; and brother-in-law George and his son Mark.

Services are under the direction of Schaefer-Shipman in Marysville. There was a morning private family graveside service followed by a memorial service in celebration of Donnas life at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2007.
