Marion Jean Dyreson, 84, of Marysville, Wash., passed away, Saturday, July 7, 2007, in Seattle, Wash.
She was born Nov. 4, 1922, in St. Paul, Minn., to Michael and Gertrude Dooley.
Jean spent her childhood in St. Paul. She graduated from Murray High School with the first graduating class.
Jean married Carl Froland in 1941 and he preceded her in death.
Jean moved to Washington and married Vernon Dyreson where they lived in Darrington, Wash. He also preceded her in death.
She was the Clerk/Treasurer for the city of Darrington. She, with help from the Marysville Clerk, started the Clerks Organization for Snohomish County. She also volunteered for the Information Center and for Catholic Community Services.
After she turned 50 she became an artist and also learned how to play piano. She was a member of TOPS and St. Marys Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting and has many beautiful and elaborate quilts.
She is survived by three children, Joan Marie Lehner (William), Judith Ann Hall (Alan) and Charles Gregory Froland (Melissa); eight grandchildren, Michael, Erin, Tonya, John, James, Kevin, Henry and Jenna; three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Katharine and Christopher. Jean had many friends and relatives who will miss her.
Visitation was from 4 – 7 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville. A prayer service began at 7 p.m. A funeral mass was at 11 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2007 at St Marys Catholic Church, Marysville, burial followed at St. Marys Cemetery in Marysville.
