John Gogal Jr

John Gogal Jr. died peacefully at home on Camano Island, Wash., on Feb. 9, 2007.
He was born June 3, 1927, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Helen and John Gogal.
He served aboard the U.S.S. Bunker Hill during WWII and was discharged in Seattle, Wash., where he married Mary Louise Irvine in November 1946. They moved to Alderwood Manor in 1952, where they farmed five acres and raised 13 children. In 1969, he and his wife, MaryLou, moved the family to Mukilteo, Wash., where they owned and operated MaryLous Ice Cream Parlor in Mukilteo and then MaryLous Diner in Marysville, Wash.
In 1991 he retired with MaryLou on Camano Island to once again farm five acres.
He leaves his wife, Louise MaryLou; sons, Jim, Mick (Carolyn), Bill, Pat (Michelle) Ken, Dan (Susan), Fred (Lori) and Joe (Heidi); and daughters, Cece Gogal, Ginny Dunham (Pat), Cathy Lenac (John), Margie Gogal, Marian Gogal and partner Steevie; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grand-children; brothers, Andy, Jim and Bill; and many, many neices and nephews.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Marian for the many hours she devoted to helping Dad and Mom during his illness.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at St. Cecilias Catholic Church, Stanwood, Washington.
