John Jack Parker

John Jack Parker, 82 years young, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away on Nov. 30, 2007.
Jack was born on Aug. 1, 1925, in Grandview, Wash., to parents John and Helen Parker. After graduating from Marysville High School, he served with the Seabees in the South Pacific during World War II. In 1951, Jack met and married Lorna, his wife of 56 years. They settled in Everett, Wash., where they raised their two daughters.
Jack graduated with a Bachelors degree in Education from Western Washington University, and a Masters degree from Seattle University. He taught elementary and middle school for 25 years in the Everett School District. Many of his former students still call him their favorite teacher.
Jack was a longtime member of Westminster Presbysterian Church where he served as Trustee, Deacon, and Financial Chairman. He enjoyed countless hours woodworking and creating rubber stamps. He volunteered for many years for various hospital programs in Everett. But he most enjoyed time spent with family and friends, especially while enjoying Starbucks coffee.
Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Marjean Wall; and his brother, Don Parker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lorna; daughters, Debbie (Greg) Salcedo and Barb (Chris) Lark; grandsons, Kevin (Torina) Salcedo, Brian (Sarah) Salcedo, Brad and Drew Butler; great-grandchildren, Xander and Audrey Salcedo; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Westminster Church.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Westminster Church Memorial Fund, the Everett Gospel Mission, or the Providence Hospital Lifeline program.
The family wishes to express thanks to all of the staff at Everett Transitional Care Services who provided Jack with such wonderful comfort and care.
