Lillian Agnes (Pankratz) Hoad

In loving memory of Lillian Agnes (Pankratz) Hoad, 91, who passed away on January 15th after a recent illness. She was born in Lustre, Montana on December 28th, 1919 while her parents, Alexander and Anna Pankratz, were homesteading there. She moved back to Mountain Lake, Minnesota where she spent most of her school years. She attended Northwestern College and then headed to Seattle during the war where she worked as an LPN and where she met her husband, Lester. After seeing two children through college, she herself went back to the University of Washington and obtained a teaching certificate. She then taught at Arlington Christian School for a few years. She and her husband enjoyed living in rural Arlington until their health required them to move into an apartment. Lillian and her husband spent many years working in the AWANA youth program as well as other church activities.

She was preceded in death by Lester, her husband of 64 years, last September and by both older brothers, Ben and Leonard. She is survived by her three sisters, Rosella, Violet and Esther and her brother Elroy. She is also survived by her two children, Alese Minnifield and Alex (Kathy) Hoad, grandchildren Michael (Viktoria) Moore, Matthew (Renee) Moore, Marissa Moore, John (Teri) Hoad, James (Lori) Hoad and Rebekah (James) Borden and great-grandchild Rebecca Chalmers.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Arlington, 426 N. French Ave., on Saturday, February 19th at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the Gideons ministry (www.gideons.org) or to the AWANA programs at First Baptist Church of Arlington or First Baptist Church of Marysville.
