Martha Charlotte Carpenter, 96, passed away on March 16, 2007, at Regency Care Center in Arlington, Wash.
She was born to William and Elsie Earl on Oct. 31, 1910, in Granite Falls, Wash. Marthas grandparents were Fred and Ida Brush.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Carpenter; daughters, Mary Baker and Betty Dixon; granddaughter, Shelby Orr; brothers, Delbert and Bill Earl; and sister, Edna Lybbert.
Martha is survived by one daughter, Elsie Orr; very special loving friend, Bruce Berg; son-in-law, Tom Dixon; sister, Evelyn Furlong; sister-in-law, Annie Earl; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; many friends in Granite Falls and Regency Care Center of Arlington.
She belonged to the Granite Falls Eagles, Granite Falls Sportsman Club, Granite Falls Fireman Auxiliary, Granite Falls Senior Center and worked many hours at the Granite Falls Food Bank.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Evergreen Funeral Home, Everett. A celebration of her life followed at 4 p.m., at the Granite Falls Eagles, where she donated many hours.

After cremation, Martha was laid to rest at the Granite Falls American Legion Cemetery beside her loving husband, John and granddaughter, Shelby Orr and close to her daughter, Mary Baker.
