For the second year in a row, the fastpitch state championship all-star team has come out of Stilly Valley Little League.

So in celebration of the 2008 squad’s accomplishments and the program’s recent success, the Snohomish County Council honored the Stilly Valley all-stars for their outstanding season.

Stilly Valley went undefeated through the district and state tournaments, defeating the Sammamish all-stars 5-2 in Walla Walla to be named Team Washington. The girls’ season ended in Vancouver, Wash., when the team failed to qualify for the regional semifinal games.

In a resolution dated Aug. 13, the Council noted their recognition of the “superb achievements of the Stilly Valley Major Little League All-Star Softball Team in winning their second consecutive State Championship and congratulates the team members, coaches, staff and volunteers on their distinguished record.”

This year’s team was made up of Hayley Fields, Amy Revelle, Macall McGhee, Syvannah Cram, Jessica Ludwig, Katelynn Kazen, Savannah Diemer, Kayla Mashburn, Bailey Hoag, Marisa Rathert, Katelyn McDonald, Hayden Fields and Kaylyn Myers. The team was coached by Brian Fields, Butch Diemer and Steve McDonald.
