The junior is averaging 8.2 yards every time he touches the ball.

Although Stanwood was able to keep him to 110 yards, Denton was as potent an offensive threat as ever, scoring three touchdowns against the Spartans to help Marysville improve to 4-0 on the season with a 42-14 win.

While Stanwood took the first lead on a first quarter rush, Marysville bounced back. Junior defensive tackle Vini Talataina returned a fumble 60 yards to tie the game up by the end of 12 minutes. Marysville went on to churn out another 28 points, starting with back-to-back Denton scoring runs. Senior wide receiver Levi Cartas caught a 23-yard pass for a touchdown as well, one of the Tomahawks’ rare passing attempts.

With a late-game rushing touchdown, senior running back Travis Sanderson helped put the game away with another seven points and his third touchdown of the season.

Tomahawk kicker Danny Stokes was perfect on all six extra points.

Marysville hosts Arlington next on Oct. 3 as the Tomahawks celebrate 100 years of football.
