Senior guard Jessica Welk led Arlington with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Classmate Shayna Prause contributed 18 rebounds and three points in the losing effort.
The junior varsity Lady Eagles dispatched of the Lady Royals 42-15.
First-year coach Nathan Davis said his girls were excited to play in front of a large home crowd and a supportive band, but unfortunately couldnt adjust to the Royal defense until late in the game.
I dont think they (AHS) were used to seeing that type of press, he said.
He praised the play of Welk and said he is confident that the Lady Eagles and their offense will improve as the season progresses.
