LHS boys basketball opens with a win

The Lakewood boys basketball team started their 2006-07 campaign with a 57-49 victory Saturday, Dec. 2, over the defending 2A state champions Lynden Christian Lyncs.

The Cougars non-league victory was played on the road in northern Washington.
The game was scheduled to be the second of the season, but the Nov. 28 Sedro-Woolley game was rescheduled for Thursday, Dec. 7 after a snowstorm.
Senior Danny Borisov led the Cougars with 16 points and also contributed three assists and four steals.
The Cougars look to go 2-0 Thursday, Dec. 7, at Sedro-Woolley High School.
Junior varsity tips off at 5:15 p.m. and varsity begins at 7 p.m.
