To our friends at the Globe, Id like to thank, and especially Matt Dorn, for the nice article and pictures of the Fishing Derby at the Kiwanis Pond in May.
As members of Kiwanis, we work very hard to make that event a fun experience for the kids, moms and dads that come to fish, enjoy a little breakfast and maybe win a bike. Every year, I walk all the way around that pond looking for former students, friends and their children as they fish and yell about catching one or two trout.
We also really appreciate the Parks Department Jim Ballew, Everett Steelhead Club John Martinez and all the work they put into that project.
Its so encouraging to see that you notice it, too.
