Arlington wins 1-0; MG girls fall; M-P soccer victorious; Lakewood gets a no-hitter

ARLINGTON

Baseball

The Eagle baseball team had by far its closest game of the season Tuesday, narrowly beating visiting Oak Harbor 1-0.

Arlington is 16-0 and hasn’t been in many close games, but Oak Harbor, which is only 2-6 in Wesco league play, gave them all they could handle.

Cameron Smith won the pitching duel against Jacksyn Pawlowiczs. Smith pitched all seven innings, giving up two hits, walking none and striking out 10. Pawlowiczs gave up seven hits over six innings, allowed the one unearned run, walked none and struck out one.

At the plate, Andrew Smith went 3-for-3 and Owen Bishop 1-3 for Arlington.

Softball

Arlington scored six runs on only three hits, but still lost to Everett 8-6 Tuesday. Three Seagull errors helped the Eagles.

Everett, 8-3, won by way of a pinch hit, two-run, walk-off homer by Hannah Jones. Pitcher Kassidy Millar struck out 12 for the home team.

Taylor Zodrow led the Eagles going 1-3 with a double. The Eagles, 3-9, had scored four runs in the top of the seventh to tie the game.

Tennis

Stanwood beat the Eagles 7-0 Tuesday. The best match for Arlington came at No. 2 singles, where Faith Holden fell in an exciting contest 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 (16-14).

Soccer

Arlington blanked Stanwood 3-0 Tuesday night in a Wesco league game.

MARYSVILLE

Softball

Marysville Getchell went up against a red-hot Snohomish squad Tuesday, losing 10-0.

The Chargers dropped to 11-3, while the Panthers are 9-2.

Jordan Crawford held the visitors to two hits.

Soccer

Marysville-Pilchuck blanked MG Tuesday night 4-0.

Kyle Matson scored two goals to lead the Tomahawks. Randy Galvan had a goal and an assist. Victor Aguilar scored the other goal, with an assist from Ashton Wolff.

Tennis

At Oak Harbor, the home team beat MG 6-1. The only victory for the Chargers came at No. 1 doubles where Autumn Perkins-Tristan Getro won 4-6, 6-0, 6-4.

Baseball

MG edged M-P 6-5 Tuesday in a Wesco league game.

LAKEWOOD

Softball

Riley Mae Swanson pitched a no-hitter in shutting out Sehome 3-0 Tuesday. In seven innings she struck out 12 and walked two.

The Cougars only managed five hits, with Britt Boortz and Ashtyn Falor both going 1-3 and scoring a run each.

Baseball

In Northwest 2A action Tuesday, Lynden Christian beat Lakewood 8-2.

Tennis

The Cougars lost to Sedro-Woolley Tuesday 7-0.
