The Lakewood peewee Cougars took on Sedro-Woolley in a back-and-forth affair on Saturday, Nov. 3. The game saw fine play from both teams and the outcome was hard to predict until the final whistle. The Cougars held on for a 33-24 victory thanks to the running of Dash Gilbert, Lakewoods top offensive weapon.
The Arlington boys team sent two athletes to the state finals this year in Pasco, Wash. The Nov. 3 race proved to be a fine showcase for both Luke Passalacqua and Paul Simbeck. Both Eagles had excellent performances, Simbeck finishing 65th with a time of 17:34 and Passalacqua coming in 123rd at 18:31.
Like their female counterparts, the Lakewood boys split their Kings-Australia double feature weekend.
Cougars dethrone Kings
Joe Rossini came all the way out from Knoxville, Tenn. for this. The martial arts expert relocated his family after his wife decided she wanted to attend graduate school in Washington. Rossini brings with him a wealth of knowledge in various martial arts, including his specialties: judo and Brazilian jujitsu.

ARLINGTON The Eagles overcame an early deficit during the second and third quarters in their home match against Monroe, but poor shooting and foul trouble allowed the Bearcats to recover during their 54-40 victory over host Arlington on Jan. 4.
