Luana Jo Strom

Luana Jo Strom Mckinnon of Monroe passed away at home after a long illness on March 25, 2007.
She was born in Sultan on April 13, 1937 to Ellsworth and Bertha Carlson (Kast). A navy brat, she was at Pearl Harbor during the attack on Dec. 7, 1941.
She lived most of her life in the Skykomish Valley. Luana worked for many years as a certified nurses assistant in local care centers and in her home. She enjoyed gardening, needlepoint and talking with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Luana is survived by soul-mate, Gilbert Strom of Monroe; brother, Bud Kast of Everett; daughters, Amber York of Marysville, Erin Armstrong of Everett and Anna Nelson (Paul) of Monroe; sons, Ted (Tammy) Strom of Spokane and Todd Strom of Sultan; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many friends and family; and her constant companion of 10 years, Petite.
A celebration of life was held at East County Senior Center, Monroe at 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 31. A potluck followed.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Snohomish County Providence Hospice.
