Sharron Fae McNutt

Sharron Fae McNutt Berwick, 62, born July 19, 1944, in Center, Colo., died Feb. 19, 2007, in Seattle, Wash., following an extended illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Darrel Fae and Rena Mae (Waits) McNutt; and brother, Garry McNutt.
Sharron is survived by brothers, Don (Rocky), and Duane (Mary) McNutt; and numerous nieces and nephews; husband, Richard Berwick; daughter, Kathy Eslinger; grandson, Matt (Sarah) Eslinger; great-grandchildren, Stella and Mila, all of Ellensburg, Wash.; granddaughter, Jenny Eslinger, also of Ellensburg; son, Erik (Donna) Berwick; grandchildren, Desirae, Deven and Damian, of Marysville, Wash.; nephews, Pat and Cory McNutt, of Ellensburg; and godchildren, Tammy Baker and Tara Boede.
Sharron moved with her family to the Kittitas Valley from Monte Vista, Colo., in 1952. She attended school in the Kittitas School district.
As a young woman in early 1960, Sharron was afflicted with a life changing medical condition that eventually left her as a paraplegic. She met her future husband, Richard, also a paraplegic, at the University of Washington Medical Center. She worked her career at Safeco Insurance Company and retired in 1998.
Sharron was married to Richard Berwick, Sept. 10, 1966, and recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Together they raised their children in Mountlake Terrace, Wash., where the family home is.
Sharron was very active in her community and in recent years she had served as Chairperson for Arts of the Terrace and also as President of the Terrace-Brier Lions Club. In 2005, Richard and Sharron were nominated for the Jefferson Award, which honor the work of individuals in their service to others.
Sharron had many friends and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She lived her life conquering adversities and sharing her huge heart with others. She was of the opinion that you should never go faster than your guardian angel can fly, and when she got a motorized wheelchair; she put that theory to the test. On a warm summer day she would frequently be seen in her community motoring down the street to the downtown restaurant for lunch with a friend, or to get her hair done. Most of all she loved her family.
A memorial service was held at 1 p.m., on March 10, 2007, at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Mountlake Terrace.
Arrangements under the direction of Steward & Williams Tribute and Cremation Center, Ellensburg.
