Oct. 14-18 marked a full week of celebration for the Arlington High School Homecoming, an annual event that’s followed a tradition for many, many years. Indeed, it’s difficult to find a past graduate who knows when the festivities initially began.
The Arlington High School boys and girls cross country teams travel to South Whidbey High School on Saturday, Oct. 26, to compete in the Wesco League Championship meet, and will be running on a course where they’ve already had considerable success this year.
The Highland Christian girls volleyball team hosted Grace Academy, Oct. 22, and fell to the Eagles 3-0.
The Arlington High School Girls Softball team made history with their championship win this spring, and on Wednesday, Oct. 16, that history was recorded on the Arlington State Championship Sign, at the corner of Highway 9 and Highway 530, as the girls updated the sign recording Arlington’s wins in boys football, girls softball and girls basketball. Prior to Oct. 16, Arlington’s most recently recorded state championship win on the sign was in girls softball in 1986.
The Arlington High School girls soccer team faced off against Edmonds-Woodway, Oct. 15, and despite playing well, fell to the Warriors 2-1.
The Lady Eagles volleyball team faced a tough opponent in Kamiak on Tuesday, Oct. 8, but proved they were up for the challenge.
The Eagles’ tennis team faced the Snohomish Panthers in an away match on Wednesday, Oct. 8, losing overall 6-1 to Snohomish.
From Monday, Oct. 14, to Friday, Oct. 18, Arlington High School will be participating in spirit week, in preparation for the homecoming football game and homecoming dance.
The Lady Eagles dominated Cascade in a home match on Tuesday, Oct. 1, with a 9-0 shutout.
