The skate park is not exactly a sight for sore eyes and you probably wouldnt want to take a family portrait in front of it, but for the kids who spend hours honing their skateboarding and BMX biking talents on its concrete surfaces, the park is a welcome landmark in the community.
Pitching was in short supply as the Stilly Rapids junior baseball team took on the Stanwood Spartans on June 2. The two teams slugged it out, both squads reaching double figures in runs, but Stanwoods bats provided too much pop and they overpowered Stilly 19-11.
